Adult Rowing

■

It's never too late to find your sport. Our adult program welcomes complete beginners, former rowers ready to get back on the water, and parents curious about what their kids love about it. Rowing works your legs, core, back, and arms in every stroke, building strength and endurance in one workout. Because you row seated, it's easy on the knees and joints, so it's a sport you can keep doing for decades. You'll also get something a gym can't give you: calm mornings on Kent Lake, a crew that counts on you, and friends who'll cheer you on at the finish line. Come as you are. We'll teach you the rest.

No, master’s rowing is just another word for adult rowing. Master’s rowing has novice-level racing for first-year rowers. Master’s rowing also offers racing in age categories and has handicap racing based on age averages of the boat.

What if I'm not 27 yet, am I still a master’s rower?

Yes, you are still considered a master’s rower as long as you are not a youth or collegiate rower. If you are under 27 and out of college, you will practice as a master’s rower, but you will compete in an "OPEN" category at competitions until you turn 27.
